Academic Year 115, First Semester EMI Teaching Assistant Training Program
Notice:
1. To improve learning outcomes in EMI courses and the capabilities of teaching assistants, the Center for Teaching and Learning Development and Resources, Office of Academic Affairs is holding EMI teaching-assistant training. Instructors from the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange (FSE) will teach the two courses “Classroom Language (including Pronunciation)” and “Intercultural Communication.”
2. To obtain EMI teaching-assistant qualification, University students must complete the two courses above, 2 of the 4 Office of Academic Affairs training courses—Teaching Assistant System and Responsibilities, Classroom Management, Effective Teaching Strategies, and Teacher–Student Communication and Interpersonal Interaction—and the academic unit’s TA training.
3. To facilitate face-to-face interaction, this semester’s EMI TA Training Program is offered only in person, in three sessions:
(1) Time:
1. First session: October 12, 2026 (Monday), 13:10–17:00.
2. Second session: October 14, 2026 (Wednesday), 13:10–17:00.
3. Third session: October 16, 2026 (Friday), 13:10–17:00.
(2) Venue: 11th Floor, Library and Information Services Building, National Sun Yat-sen University.
(3) Participants: priority is given to teaching assistants serving EMI courses this semester who have not obtained EMI TA qualification. Each session admits at most 70 participants.

4. Notes:
(1) Participants must attend their assigned session in full. Do not register if you cannot attend the entire session.
(2) Please arrive on time. Sign-in closes 15 minutes after each class begins.
