Academic Year 115, First Semester University-Wide Teaching Assistant Training Organized by the Office of Academic Affairs

Notice:

1. This is implemented in accordance with the “Teaching Assistant Training and Assessment Guidelines,” revised and approved at the University’s 170th Academic Affairs Meeting on December 28, 2021 (attached).

2. The training is for University teaching assistants who have not yet obtained qualification. Qualified teaching assistants do not need to repeat the training.

3. Training includes four online courses: “Teaching Assistant System and Responsibilities,” “Classroom Management,” “Effective Teaching Strategies,” and “Teacher–Student Communication and Interpersonal Interaction.” These are the principal courses for discussion, laboratory, general, and service-learning TAs. In addition to choosing any 2 of the 4 courses, English as a Medium of Instruction teaching assistants (EMI TAs) must complete “Classroom Language (including Pronunciation)” and “Intercultural Communication”; these two required courses will be announced separately.

4. The online courses run from September 7, 2026 (Monday), through October 23, 2026 (Friday). Please inform students to register and watch online through the Teaching Assistant Training Information System (https://courseacad.nsysu.edu.tw/TAsystem/login.php). After registering, select the video course to watch it. No make-up access will be provided to anyone who does not watch within the stated period.

5. To ensure the quality of teaching-assistant services, students must complete the following to obtain TA qualification:

(1) A quiz follows each online course. The average quiz score must be at least 60, and no course may receive a score of zero.

(2) Students must also attend the full training program offered by their academic unit (college).

(3) After entering the Teaching Assistant Training Information System, students must select “Student Learning Portfolio” and complete their basic personal information (autobiography), learning-development plan, and reflection.

6. For questions, contact the Center for Teaching and Learning Development and Resources, Office of Academic Affairs:
